So moving on from my last blog, I am even closer to my leaving date with Essex Fire and Rescue.
I taught on my final course last week, I was working with some great instructors and great students from the community on Canvey Island. It was a great course to finish on.
I now have only 5 full days left a work, a couple of days this week and a few next week then I am on leave till my leaving date on the 10th of April.
I will miss the work I do with ECFRS but it is the right time to move on and pursue my ambition of making my work be my hobby. I am apprehensive but also looking forward to the challenge.
As part of the major changes this creates I though about changing my appearance, I have always been in a job where I cant grow a beard as both the military and Fire Service do not allow beards due to the issues it causes with gas masks and breathing apparatus. So I thought I might grow an ultra beard just to see how it looks and whether I can grow a full “Gandalf”
Although a bit of fun really I though I would see just how awesome it can make me, after all it made Rob Krar and Forest Gump run really far and fast!
I will post regular updates from the clean shaven face that was there on Friday to whatever monstrosity that grows there over the next few weeks. I will give it 4 weeks without shaving before playing with it to see how its going. It may be a combination of grey or ginger so should be interesting!
Look out for the Beard Watch updates.
