At the time of writing this I am on a train to aldershot where I am meeting a friend and staying over at theirs before the start of the race. The race is an early start (6am) and Sue can not get the morning off work so I needed to stay somewhere the night before. A good friend and fellow runner Fiona has let me stay at hers and will even take me to the start. She is working on a couple of the checkpoints too so it’s great she can help out.
This race is very soon after my tough GUCR race and I had thought about not running it but I seem to have recovered fairly well and my hip and feet are pretty much back to normal though I will not really know till late in the race if I am fully recovered so we will see.
This will be the first time I have raced a Centurion event as usually I have paced or helped out at them. I am really looking forward to it. It should be a good day or so on a pretty amazing route.
I will start easy and just see how I feel, I would love to finish sub 24 but that may be asking a bit much after GUCR and I will be happy with just a finish.
If you are bored you can follow me on the Centurion Running site on the live data feed or my twitter etc @firemannotsam
See you on the other side.
